Semi-Throwback Thursday "Speaking Softly"

Friday, April 29, 2011

This post was originally posted on December 27th, 2010. Adeline was 2 1/2 months old. Time is going by so fast with her, and things are changing so much day to day. When I reread this post, I realized that not everything is changing, I could have written this yesterday and not even change a word.
Speaking Softly

It's fun to take you around town and show you off. You look extra cute in your Ralph Lauren one piece. Pushing you up the street in your sweet stroller definitely turns heads. Everyone ooohs and ahhhs over your cute bonnets. We've already had some great times getting everyones attention, but the times that mean the most to me are the times that I am walking you around in your carrier late at night trying to get you to sleep and I get to give you a kiss on the head and softly say "I Love You".
HEY! yeah, you. Why not help a daddy out with a vote, I appreciate it.

Semi-Throwback Thursday "Daddy Sleep"

Friday, April 22, 2011

Man, looking through my old posts and transferring them can bring on some tears. In case you didn't see the original Semi Throwback Thursday post, basically in my transferring from tumblr to blogger, I am sharing old posts as I transfer them over. This gem was originally posted on October 27, 2010 8:57pm, Adeline was 10 days old. I was new at Daddin' and Bloggin'. It wasn't that long ago, but it seems like a world away.

Daddy Sleep
It was mommy's turn this morning to catch an early morning picture. I rarely ever sleep later than 6:00, but the late night diaper changes have made me want a little extra time in the morning. Also, we have decided to share our bed with our Addy, and I wake up periodically through the night and nudge my wife (Adeline is usually nestled near her chest) and ask her to make sure Addy is safe. I'm happy that she is in our bed with us, it seems to be great for feeding and bonding. It sure does make my daddy protective side come out, I feel that I am on night watch to make sure that she is safe and comfortable through the night. I get the reward in the morning when mommy gets up and I get to have her cuddled against me, I think I slept soundly at that point, I could feel her breathe, I knew she was safe.

Semi-Throwback Thursday

Thursday, April 14, 2011

So, since I've moved my blog over to blogger from tumble, I've been slowly (but surely) transferring all of my old posts. I haven't found any easy way to do it besides copy (tumblr) and pasting (blogger) the old post and re-uploading the photos. If you know a better way please let me know. In any event I had an idea, if I'm going to be going through this tedious process maybe I will re-share some notable older posts for people that may not have seen them the first go. Here is one, originally posted Oct. 22, 2010 7:49pm (Addy was 5 days old)

To My Ladies
To my Wife and Daughter:
I woke up earlier than you did this morning, I just had to take a photo of how beautiful both of you looked, although I didn't want to leave the Mommy, Addy, Daddy sandwich. I can't really describe to you how complete my life is now, I feel more selfless each day thinking of what I can do for you. I really don't mind putting my finger in the edge of a diaper to test if it needs to be changed, not knowing what type of matter will be on it when it comes out. I don't feel that I need sleep anymore, I am at your beck and call, whether it is to burp you, change your diaper, give you a bath (addy) or rub you back, make you dinner (Mommy), let me know, I will be your pillar of strength and pillow of comfort.
